We’re deepening our focus on the Indian market, and are seeking a dynamic and experienced news leader to drive that initiative on the ground. This role would work alongside our newsroom leadership to bolster Bloomberg’s digital offering for the Indian and sub-continental audience, commissioning and editing content for our website, and working with our video and audio platforms to produce multimedia content for this growing group of viewers and subscribers. Knowledge of the vibrant Indian digital news market and what motivates the local audience is a must. India has seen an explosion in retail trading and investment in recent years, and Bloomberg wants to key into that rising interest in financial markets, business and economics. Experience in covering business would be an advantage, as would a track record in video editorial and production. India is a visual market, and video will play a significant role in our future digital plans, and the broader building of our brand. Pitching a global news offering in what is a competitive domestic market will take skill, so experience in niche or foreign media will also be looked upon favorably.

This role is a chance to mastermind the India play for one of the world’s most respected business news brands. The successful candidate will be charged with conceiving and implementing our India digital and multimedia strategy, requiring both skills in leadership and stakeholder management in a newsroom setting.

We’ll Trust You To

• Lead editorial strategy for Bloomberg’s digital platforms in India, working with newsroom and digital leaders in Asia to create fantastic business news content that engages digital consumers
• Manage a team of contributors, working on both digital distribution and content generation
• Work collaboratively with our wider newsroom to turbocharge our India offering, including with multimedia teams in India and beyond, particularly our video platforms
• Be actively monitoring and analyzing the performance of our digital offering for India — as well as the competition — adjusting strategies to enhance content, audience engagement and outreach as needed

You’ll Need To Have

• At least 7 years of experience as a journalist, editor, or in a similar newsroom role
• Expertise in digital news environments, with experience in India essential
• Strong editorial judgment and a deep understanding of Indian media consumption habits
• Proven ability to leverage audience analytics to shape content strategies in a newsroom setting
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across diverse teams
• Fluency in both spoken and written English
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
