About The Role

The IT Network Architect at Vistance Networks plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced network infrastructures. This position requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in network engineering and architecture, capable of translating complex business requirements into scalable and secure network solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership, IT operations, and cross-functional teams to develop technology roadmaps, establish standards, and drive innovation. Serving as a technical leader and escalation point, the Network Architect will oversee architecture documentation, perform capacity planning, and support cloud and automation initiatives. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience in network architecture, infrastructure strategy, and enterprise networking technologies.
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying complex network solutions across multiple domains, including routing protocols, security, and cloud networking.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise-grade network hardware and software, including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco), wireless technologies (Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus), load balancers (F5), and VPN technologies (IPsec, DMVPN).
• Experience with SD-WAN deployments, preferably Versa Networks, and network automation using scripting languages such as Python, REST APIs, YAML/JSON, and tools like Postman.
• Familiarity with cloud networking platforms including AWS and Azure, encompassing architecture design, vendor management, and lifecycle support.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills utilizing packet analysis tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and IOS capture.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, accountability, and ability to operate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive network and technology roadmaps aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Design, review, and approve network solutions ensuring compliance with security policies, standards, and scalability requirements.
• Collaborate with IT operations and business units to ensure seamless integration of new initiatives and technology upgrades.
• Assess existing network infrastructure to identify optimization, scalability, and cost-efficiency opportunities, and develop high-level improvement plans.
• Create detailed architecture documentation, including design diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
• Lead and mentor the network architecture team, providing technical guidance, resource planning, and serving as the primary escalation point for critical issues.
• Conduct network modeling, capacity planning, and performance analysis to ensure solutions meet current and future business needs.
• Act as subject matter expert for enterprise network design, troubleshooting, and implementation across routing, security, wireless, and VPN technologies.
• Support and enhance SD-WAN deployments, with a preference for hands-on experience with Versa Networks solutions.
• Design and oversee deployment of network services including IPv6, WAN, data centers, manufacturing sites, branch offices, and remote access solutions.
• Develop automation and orchestration solutions using scripting languages and APIs to streamline network management tasks.
• Support cloud networking initiatives, including architecture design, vendor engagement, circuit provisioning, and lifecycle management in AWS and Azure environments.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting using diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and IOS capture to resolve complex network issues.
• Provide fourth-level escalation support during critical network incidents and outages, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution.
