Role Description
- Handle end-to-end procurement of construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, finishing materials, MEP items, etc.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors and suppliers; maintain a strong vendor database.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and finalize purchase orders based on project requirements.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with site teams, project managers, and store departments for material planning and delivery schedules.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid project delays.
- Monitor material consumption, inventory levels, and coordinate with stores for stock availability.
- Ensure quality standards of procured materials and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
- Maintain proper documentation of purchase records, invoices, and contracts.
- Support cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for savings and value engineering.
- Coordinate with accounts team for invoice verification and payment processing.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and procurement processes
- Experience in vendor negotiation and cost analysis
- Proficiency in MS Excel (rate comparison, cost sheets)
- Familiarity with ERP / procurement software
- Understanding of billing, inventory, and supply chain processes
