Job Description – State Head – Wires & Cables Business
Department: Sales
Reports To: Business Head / National Sales Head
Business Units: Wires & Cables
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Sales
• Develop and execute state-level sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Identify market potential, competitor activities, pricing trends, and customer requirements.
• Drive primary and secondary sales growth across the state.
• Build strong relationships with dealers, distributors, contractors, builders, consultants, retailers, and institutional customers.
• Identify new business opportunities in residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure segments.
2. Channel Network Development
• Appoint and develop distributors, dealers, and retail networks across assigned territories.
• Ensure effective channel engagement and market penetration.
• Monitor channel performance and implement corrective actions where required.
• Develop strong distribution coverage in key districts and towns.
3. Team Building & Leadership
• Recruit, train, mentor, and lead the state sales team from the ground level.
• Set KRAs/KPIs and monitor team performance regularly.
• Build a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability and growth.
• Coordinate with HR for manpower planning and talent acquisition.
4. Market Expansion
• Launch and establish the brand presence in the state market.
• Conduct market visits regularly to evaluate customer engagement and competition.
• Develop strategies for increasing market share and visibility.
• Coordinate promotional activities, dealer meets, and product awareness programs.
5. Operations & Coordination
• Coordinate with supply chain, logistics, finance, and customer support teams for smooth operations.
• Ensure timely collections and control outstanding payments.
• Maintain healthy inventory movement across channel partners.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and reporting standards.
Reporting & MIS
• Submit periodic sales forecasts, market intelligence, and business reports.
• Track achievement against targets and business objectives.
• Provide actionable insights for management decision-making.
