IT Infrastructure Intern Full Time NEW

Biodimension Technology, a biotech startup pioneering human tissue models for drug discovery (recognized by DBT-BIRAC, DST, PETA, HSI), is seeking a hands-on IT Infrastructure Intern to lead our infrastructure modernization project.

You’ll architect, deploy, and support a production-grade self-hosted server environment, migrate users from SaaS to open-source tools, and train the team through this transition.

Duration: 3 months (June-August 2026) | Non-renewable fixed-term internship

What You’ll Build

• Deploy containerized enterprise stack (CRM, ERP, LIMS, document management) on macOS server
• Set up RAID storage, automated backups, dual-WAN networking
• Integrate 7+ open-source platforms with automation workflows
• Train the team and create comprehensive documentation

Required Skills

Must Have:

• Linux/Unix system administration (bash, systemd, package managers)
• Docker & containerization (Dockerfiles, docker-compose, volumes)
• Database admin (PostgreSQL/MariaDB: backups, tuning)
• Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls)
• 2-3 FOSS tools: ERPNext, Nextcloud, OpenProject, WordPress, n8n, or similar

Preferred:

• macOS administration (especially Apple Silicon)
• VPN tech (WireGuard, Tailscale)
• Storage/RAID/NAS management
• Backup strategies (Restic, rsync)
• API integration & automation scripting

Ideal Candidate

• Recent CS/IT grad or final-year student
• Personal projects: Docker deployments, home labs, open-source contributions
• Excited about infrastructure-as-code & automation
• Comfortable in fast-paced startup environment
• Strong communicator (explaining tech to non-tech scientists)

NOT for you if:

You are looking for full-time conversion, prefer observational roles, need hand-holding, limited CLI experience or just because you got a degree.
