Role: Computational Engineering Intern
A Computational Engineering Intern is expected to contribute to the ideation, development, and implementation of computational methods for optical tracking systems, addressing research gaps in the domain of image-guided surgical navigation. The intern should be capable of understanding a given problem statement, conducting literature surveys, and pursuing the necessary learnings to rapidly implement solutions as proof-of-concept. The role requires a genuine interest in learning new technologies and frameworks across sensing, geometry, and real-time computation.
Responsibilities:
• Algorithm design and development for optical tracking in image-guided surgical systems.
• Contributing to an interdisciplinary team working across engineering, medicine, and technology to advance surgical navigation research.
• Conducting research to identify relevant technological advancements in surgical navigation and computational engineering.
• Testing, validation, and performance benchmarking of developed algorithms.
• Documenting all aspects of R&D activities, including design specifications, test protocols, and validation results.
• Generation and presentation of technical reports, white papers, and summaries.
Requirements:
• Strong mathematical foundation, including Linear Algebra, Calculus, Probability, Statistics
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and/or MATLAB.
• Familiarity with computational methods such as numerical methods, applied mathematics, parallel computing, or high-performance computing is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Final year or recent graduate in B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Computational Science.
