Varanasi Burn Institute (VBI) is an emerging not-for-profit Center for Advanced Burn Care dedicated to transforming burn treatment and rehabilitation in India. Led by renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Subodh Kumar Singh, the institute is being developing a state-of-the-art facility to address the critical gap in quality burn care particularly for underserved populations. VBI aims to significantly improve treatment outcomes through advanced clinical care, reconstructive surgery, training, and research, while restoring dignity and quality of life for burn survivors across the region. Role Summary

The Fundraising Director will serve as the primary architect and executor of VBI’s resource mobilisation strategy. This individual will be responsible for building and managing a robust donor ecosystem. Spanning individual philanthropy, corporate CSR partnerships, institutional grants, and digital fundraising to ensure a steady and growing financial base for capex and opex need of VBI to expand its life-saving services. The role demands both strategic vision and hands-on execution in the non-profit healthcare fundraising landscape.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and execute annual fundraising strategy with clear targets and KPIs

· Build and manage donor pipeline (HNIs, CSR, foundations, diaspora)

· Lead proposal writing, grant applications, and donor communication

· Drive CSR partnerships and manage corporate relationships

· Manage digital fundraising (GiveIndia, Ketto, Milaap, etc.)

· Organise fundraising events and networking initiatives

· Ensure compliance (FCRA, 80G, 12A) and reporting

Qualifications & Experience

· Master degree in Social Work, Management, Communications, Public Health, or a related field. MBA/PGDM preferred.

· 4–6 years in NGO fundraising / business development

· Proven success in CSR or grant fundraising

· Strong communication, proposal writing & stakeholder management

Desirable

· Experience working in healthcare, disability, or humanitarian organisations.

· Existing donor network in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, or pan-India.

· Familiarity with FCRA compliance and CSR fund application and reporting.
