IT Lab Assistant

Job Summary

An IT Lab Assistant is responsible for maintaining computer labs, assisting students or staff with technical issues, and ensuring smooth functioning of computer systems, networks, and lab equipment. The role includes software installation, troubleshooting, system maintenance, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain and monitor computer lab systems and equipment

* Install, update, and configure software and applications

* Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues

* Assist students, faculty, or employees with technical support

* Ensure proper functioning of printers, projectors, and internet connectivity

* Maintain system security and data backups

* Monitor lab usage and maintain attendance/log records

* Coordinate with vendors for repairs and maintenance

* Ensure cleanliness and proper arrangement of lab equipment

* Follow IT policies and safety procedures

Required Skills

* Basic knowledge of computer hardware and networking

* Troubleshooting and technical support skills

* Knowledge of operating systems and software installation

* Good communication and problem-solving abilities

* Time management and organizational skills

* Basic knowledge of MS Office and internet applications

Qualifications

* Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field

* Hardware/Networking certification preferred

* Freshers and experienced candidates can apply

Preferred Experience

* Experience in computer labs, schools, colleges, or IT support roles

* Familiarity with LAN, Wi-Fi, printers, and system mainten
