Sr. Engineer – Procurement & Operations Full Time

As an Sr. Engineer – Procurement & Operations, you will be the backbone of our project execution cycle. You will liaise with vendors, decode tender documents, support the commercial and technical bidding process, and ensure smooth on-ground operations across ELV projects. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys owning end-to-end accountability.

Key Responsibilities

A. Procurement

•     Identify, onboard, and maintain a robust vendor base for all ELV systems — CCTV, PA, Access Control, Networking (Active & Passive), Nurse Calling, Fire Alarm, Boom Barrier, EPBAX, and related equipment.

•     Float enquiries, collect comparative quotations, and follow up rigorously to ensure timely rate availability.

•     Evaluate vendor proposals on technical compliance, pricing, and delivery capability.

•     Negotiate rates and payment terms while maintaining long-term vendor relationships.

•     Maintain an updated vendor rate database for quick reference during bidding and project execution.

•     Track deliveries, coordinate with suppliers for lead times, and resolve supply-side issues proactively.

B. Tendering

•     Read, analyse, and interpret tender documents including BOQ, technical specifications, scope of work, and eligibility criteria.

•     Understand and assess both Technical Qualification Criteria (TQC) and Financial Qualification Criteria (FQC) for bid eligibility.

•     Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates in coordination with the technical and management teams.

•     Coordinate with OEMs and vendors to gather technical compliance statements, datasheets, and supporting documentation.

•     Compile complete bid submissions ensuring all mandatory documents, forms, and certifications are included.

•     Track tender portals (GeM, CPP, government portals, private tenders) and flag relevant opportunities proactively.

•     Maintain a calendar of pre-bid meetings, submission deadlines, and clarification windows.

C. Operations & Project Support

•     Support site operations teams with material planning, procurement status, and vendor coordination during project execution.

•     Maintain project-wise documentation including PO trackers, delivery challans, site requirements, and vendor correspondences.

•     Liaise between the site team and back-office to ensure materials reach project sites as per the scheduled timeline.

•     Assist in preparation of As-Built documentation and handover dossiers.

•     Track project milestones and flag any procurement-related risks to the management team promptly.

Ideal Candidate Profile

•     2–3 years of hands-on experience in ELV project procurement, tendering, or operations.

•     Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and tender documents independently.

•     Strong vendor network or ability to quickly build one across ELV product categories.

•     Excellent follow-up skills — can track vendor quotes, approvals, and deliveries without prompting.

•     Comfortable working with spreadsheets, comparison sheets, and documentation tools.

•     Good written and verbal communication in English and Hindi (or regional language as applicable).

•     Team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.

•     Familiarity with government portals for tender discovery (GeM, CPPP, etc.) is a plus.

•     Understanding of IS codes, NBC standards, and relevant compliance requirements for ELV systems is an advantage.
