Innovations Manager — Beauty Devices & Accessories

Location: HQ Delhi

Role

Own end-to-end innovation for beauty devices (e.g., hair dryers/stylers, trimmers, facial tools) and accessories (brushes, puffs, organizers). Ship differentiated, safe, cost-efficient products that fit MARS’ design-led, system-integrated roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Roadmap & PRDs: Define problem statements, user requirements, and success metrics; align with brand, supply chain, finance.

• NPD & DFM/DFX: Drive concept → EVT/DVT/PVT; manage tooling, tolerances, materials, reliability testing (drop/thermal/aging).

• Tech Decisions: Evaluate motor/heat/airflow modules (e.g., BLDC vs brushed, PTC, nozzle/CFD trade-offs), power electronics, safety.

• Vendor & Sourcing: Identify/qualify OEM/ODM/component suppliers; run RFQs, negotiate MOQs, build should-cost models.

• Quality & Compliance: Plan test protocols and documentation for BIS/CRS, IEC 60335 series, RoHS/REACH, EPR (e-waste), WPC (RF), UN38.3/IEC 62133 (if batteries).

• Industrial Design & UX: Partner with ID to ensure ergonomics, acoustic comfort, thermals, and serviceability; packaging fit/spec.

• Go-to-Market Readiness: Pilot builds, line setup, SOPs, spares/after-sales, user manuals, and risk registers.

• Data & Iteration: Track field performance, NPS/reviews, failure modes; drive rapid revs and cost/quality improvements.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 6–10 years in hardware NPD for small appliances/consumer electronics/beauty devices.

• Proven DFM/DFX, basic EE/ME literacy (PCBA, plastics, metals, silicone), tooling, and reliability testing.

• Strong vendor management in India/China/Korea; hands-on with RFQs, BOMs, PPAP/FAT.

• Familiar with Indian and global compliance pathways for consumer devices.

• Tools: CAD (SolidWorks/Creo), basic FEA/CFD interpretation, Jira/PLM, Excel for should-costs.

• Execution bias; can run parallel tracks and hit dates.
