Job Title: L2 Infrastructure Engineer – Nutanix & VMware
Location: Pune (India)
Mode : Work from Office
Shift: US Time Zone (Night Shift – 24×7 Managed Services Environment)
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive L2 Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience in Nutanix and VMware environments to support and manage enterprise customer infrastructure. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing virtualized environments while ensuring high availability, performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
• Administer and manage Nutanix (AHV, Prism) and VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) environments
• Perform VM provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability
Incident & Problem Management
• Handle L2 incidents, service requests, and escalations
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues
• Work closely with L1 and L3 teams for issue resolution
Monitoring & Optimization
• Monitor infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools
• Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements
• Ensure SLA adherence and proactive issue resolution
Backup & DR
• Manage backup and recovery processes
• Support disaster recovery (DR) drills and readiness
• Ensure data integrity and availability
Change & Patch Management
• Execute planned changes, upgrades, and patching activities
• Maintain compliance with change management processes
Documentation
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
• Ensure accurate documentation of incidents and resolutions
Technical Skills Required
✔ Core Skills
• Strong experience in:
o Nutanix AHV, Prism Central/Element
o VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter
• Good understanding of:
o Virtualization concepts
o Storage (SAN/NAS/HCI)
o Networking basics (VLAN, IP, DNS)
✔ Additional Skills (Preferred)
• Experience with:
o Backup tools (Veeam / Commvault / Rubrik)
o Monitoring tools (Elastic, SolarWinds, etc.)
o Basic scripting (PowerShell / Bash)
✔ Soft Skills
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in 24×7 rotational / US shift environment
• Excellent communication (written & verbal)
• Customer-focused mindset
Experience & Qualification
• 4–5 years of experience in infrastructure support
• Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science or related field
• Relevant certifications (preferred):
o Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
o VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
