Company Description Google Hustle Academy is an online bootcamp designed to help small businesses grow by boosting revenue, preparing for investment, and building long-term sustainability. Through live training sessions, 1:1 mentorship, and masterclasses led by industry experts, participants gain practical skills across business strategy, development, digital marketing, financial planning, and pitching. The program is free and currently serves businesses in Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa that have at least two full-time employees and over 12 months of operations. Hustle Academy focuses on organizations that are already generating profit or are close to breaking even, offering targeted support for scaling. Participants also benefit from rich networking opportunities with peers and mentors across multiple markets.
Role Description The Freelance Writer (part-time, remote) will create clear, engaging content that supports Google Hustle Academy’s educational programs and community. Day-to-day tasks include writing and editing articles, learning materials, blog posts, email content, and social copy aligned with the Academy’s tone and goals. The writer will collaborate with program managers, mentors, and subject matter experts to translate complex business and digital skills topics into accessible, practical content for small business owners. Responsibilities also include researching relevant trends and success stories, optimizing content for digital channels, and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and inclusivity of language. The role may involve working to weekly content deadlines, incorporating feedback, and adapting materials for different markets within the program.
Qualifications

• Strong skills in content and copy writing, including experience crafting clear, concise, and engaging educational or business-focused content.
• Proficiency in editing and proofreading, with attention to grammar, structure, accuracy, and brand voice consistency.
• Ability to research business, entrepreneurship, and digital marketing topics and turn insights into practical, audience-relevant content.
• Experience creating content for digital channels (e.g., blogs, email, social media, learning platforms) and understanding of online audience engagement.
• Excellent written communication skills in English, with the ability to write for diverse, multicultural audiences in Africa in a gender-neutral, inclusive manner.
• Strong time-management skills, reliability in meeting deadlines, and comfort working independently in a fully remote, part-time capacity.
• Previous experience writing for education, startups, small businesses, or entrepreneurship programs is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in professional writing.
