Job Purpose: Senior Executive – Design is responsible for executing key design tasks and managing team efforts to ensure the successful completion of design components. This role involves supporting senior architects by creating detailed architectural designs, conducting site analyses, and coordinating with stakeholders. It enables professionals to apply their technical skills and contribute to the effective and timely completion of design projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Design Leadership

• Lead electrical design activities for airport and large infrastructure projects.
• Review and approve load calculations and demand assessments, power distribution systems (HT/LT), substation layouts, and single line diagrams.
• Ensure all designs align with project requirements and company standards.
• Oversee and review the preparation of design documents, technical specifications, and reports.

Project Delivery

• Manage the electrical scope throughout all stages of the project, including concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction support.
• Track deliverables, manage timelines, and oversee design progress.
• Support site activities such as installation, testing, and commissioning, respond to RFIs, FCRs..
• Review of Shop drawings, technical submittals.
• Visit site to check progress as per design and any noncompliance requirements.
• Attend FAT & SAT
• Ensure overall coordination with stakeholders, regulatory bodies.
• Bid analysis and technical recommendations, BOQ and costing support
• Responsible to oversee schedule and deliverables alignment with project.

Technical Oversight

• Provide technical directions to internal teams and external consultants.
• Review complex engineering issues and deliver practical solutions.
• Ensure quality and consistency across all electrical deliverables.

Coordination

• Lead coordination efforts with HVAC, PHE, fire protection, and ICT systems.
• Collaborate with architectural and structural teams to ensure integration of electrical systems with overall project design.
• Participate in design and coordination meetings.

Systems Scope

• Oversee power supply and distribution systems (HT/LT), substations, and transformers.
• Manage diesel generator systems and backup power, as well as UPS systems and critical power infrastructure.
• Supervise the design of internal and external lighting systems, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Ensure proper interface with ELV/ICT systems.

Standards & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with NBC, IS standards, IEC, and requirements from relevant authorities.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.
• Support the development and refinement of internal design standards.

Stakeholder Management

• Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
• Lead technical discussions and design presentations.
• Support statutory approvals and assist in inspections.

Team Leadership

• Mentor and guide engineers and designers.
• Review team outputs to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Support resource planning and the professional development of the team.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and design principles.
• Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or equivalent software.
• Solid understanding of applicable codes and standards.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.

Qualifications

Education

• Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.

Experience

• 18-20 years of experience in electrical design and project delivery.
• Experience with airport or large infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Proven experience in leading teams and managing multiple projects.
