Industry: Heavy Machinery Manufacturing / Production
Job Location: Changodar, Ahmedabad
Job Purpose:
Responsible for purchasing technical goods, materials, and services for industrial and heavy machinery operations while ensuring cost savings, quality improvement, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials, components, and services as per quality, cost, and delivery targets
- Ensure continuous supply and resolve supplier-related issues
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead time, and quality with suppliers
- Identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Prepare purchase orders and manage procurement activities
- Analyze quotations, BOMs, and technical drawings
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies
- Coordinate with vendors for quality and continuous improvement
- Prepare sourcing reports and supplier performance reviews
Required Skills:
- Experience in engineering procurement and operations
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Good knowledge of suppliers, manufacturing processes, and quotations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computer applications
- Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Understanding of BOMs and engineering drawings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement from Heavy Machinery or Industrial Automation industry.
