Procurement Manager (Chemicals & Minerals) Full Time NEW

The Procurement Manager – Chemicals & Minerals is responsible for leading global sourcing and procurement activities for base chemicals, ensuring secure, sustainable, and cost-effective supply across manufacturing locations. The role focuses on value creation through strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, cost optimization, and risk mitigation, while enabling uninterrupted production through strong cross-functional collaboration in a complex global environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead global sourcing and category management for base chemicals.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and procurement priorities.
• Negotiate and manage sourcing agreements and supply contracts in line with corporate policies and ethical standards.
• Drive value creation through cost optimization initiatives, including de-specification, demand bundling, and innovation-led sourcing.
• Ensure competitive pricing and supplier performance using market intelligence and digital sourcing tools (e.g., e-RFQs, e-auctions).
• Monitor supplier performance, supply availability, and risks; lead corrective actions where required.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, and technical teams to ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery to production sites.
• Support corporate sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives in partnership with suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Science, or Engineering, with an MBA in Supply Chain or Operations preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably with global exposure. Experience in oleochemicals and/or minerals (e.g., coal, bentonite clays) is an added advantage.
• Strong capabilities in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management, with a focus on value creation and cost optimization.
• Proven experience in supplier performance management, risk mitigation, and market analysis in volatile supply environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional and multicultural teams, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical, adaptable, and digitally enabled, with experience using e-sourcing tools and a commitment to sustainability, ethics, and continuous improvement
