Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Infection Control Nurse role based at KANISHK Surgical & Super Specialty Hospital in Dehradun. The Infection Control Nurse will monitor, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control practices across all hospital departments, in alignment with NABH guidelines and national standards. Daily responsibilities include conducting infection surveillance, tracking hospital-acquired infections, auditing hand hygiene and aseptic techniques, and reviewing sterilization and disinfection processes. The role involves developing and updating infection control policies, preparing reports for hospital committees, and providing regular training and education to clinical and non-clinical staff on infection prevention protocols. The Infection Control Nurse will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during outbreaks, support root cause analyses of infection events, ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment, and contribute to quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to apply clinical knowledge to infection prevention and patient safety.
• Demonstrated expertise in Infection Control and Infection surveillance, including policy implementation and compliance monitoring.
• Knowledge of Infectious Diseases, including transmission routes, antimicrobial stewardship principles, and outbreak management.
• Recognized nursing qualification (e.g., B.Sc. Nursing, GNM) with valid registration; additional certification or formal training in infection control is highly desirable.
• Experience in a hospital or acute care setting, preferably in infection control, critical care, or quality and patient safety roles.
• Ability to conduct audits, analyze infection-related data, prepare reports, and present findings to clinical teams and management.
• Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and guide multidisciplinary staff in protocol adherence.
• Attention to detail, adherence to ethical standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with rotational schedules
