ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Accountant at TrueLedgr, you will manage bookkeeping, payroll processing, monthly sales tax preparation, and monthly financial reporting for assigned US-based clients. You will work directly on client books, own the accuracy of every deliverable, and serve as the primary point of contact for your assigned clients — written and verbal communication in English will be a core part of this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Maintain books of accounts for US-based clients on QuickBooks Online / Desktop
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and on time
• Prepare MIS reports including budget vs actuals, cash flow summaries, debtor/creditor ageing, and key financial ratios for management review

Payroll Processing

• Process monthly payroll for client employees — salary computation and deductions
• Handle W-2 and 1099 preparation and processing for assigned clients
• Coordinate payroll disbursement approvals directly with clients

Sales Tax

• Prepare and file monthly state sales tax returns for assigned clients across multiple states
• Maintain sales tax records, track state-wise filing deadlines, and ensure zero missed filings

Client Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned US-based clients — own the relationship
• Handle client queries, data requests, and reporting deliverables end to end
• Flag discrepancies or issues proactively before they reach the client
• Ensure all deliverables are submitted as per the monthly reporting calendar

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Qualification

Experience in US accounting — prior KPO / accounting outsourcing firm experience mandatory

• CA Final with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• CA Inter with 3–4 years of relevant experience.
• B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) candidates with 5 years of strong practical exposure may also apply

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online / Desktop — mandatory
• MS Excel — intermediate to advanced (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation)
• Working knowledge of US payroll concepts — W-2, 1099, federal and state payroll structure
• Hands-on experience with US accounting or payroll software (Gusto, ADP, Paychex) — preferred

• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication in English — client-facing role, both matter equally
• Self-starter who can work independently within defined processes
• Comfortable working in US time zone, overlap hours when required
