About the Role

We’re hiring an Accounting Manager / India Accounting Lead to be our first accounting leader in India and help build and scale our global accounting function. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership, where you’ll initially partner with our U.S. team and outsourced providers and, over time, build and lead an in-house team.

This is a rare opportunity to build a global accounting function from the ground up, with a clear path for the role to evolve into a Controller position as the company scales. You will work closely with U.S. leadership and play a key role in shaping the company’s financial infrastructure as we grow.

What You’ll Do

• Support and gradually take ownership of key technical accounting areas (equity, stock-based compensation, intangibles, etc.) in partnership with the U.S. team.
• Partner with the outsourced accounting team to execute and improve day-to-day processes (AP, AR, GL), including close, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Design and implement scalable accounting systems, controls, and processes.
• Play a key role in running the monthly close process, ensuring speed, accuracy, and clear insights.
• Contribute to technical accounting analysis and documentation for complex accounting areas.
• Build and scale an in-house accounting team, transitioning responsibilities from outsourced providers over time and establishing a strong local foundation.
• Partner cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and other teams to support US GAAP-compliant financial reporting and deliver actionable business insights.
• Maintain strong internal controls and documentation in systems of record to support audits and tax preparation.
• Support financial reporting for banking compliance, fundraising, and investor needs.

Qualifications

• CA certification (required), with a strong foundation in controls and audit.
• Exposure to US GAAP or experience working with multinational companies preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of total experience, including 2–4 years in Big 4 or national public accounting (audit or assurance).
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or similar) preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to turn accounting data into actionable insight.
• Experience within manufacturing, hardware, or start-up environments is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility for calls across time zones (e.g. U.S.) as needed.
