Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Backend Developer Intern (SDE) to join our team for a 6-month remote internship. The intern will be responsible for developing scalable server-side applications, building and maintaining APIs, and managing database systems to support real-world product development.

This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in backend development using modern technologies, designing efficient system architectures, and working on production-level applications in a flexible remote environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Prior experience in backend development is required
• Must be able to devote dedicated working time exclusively to this internship during the internship period
• Strong understanding of backend development concepts and server-side logic
• Proficiency in Node.js and backend frameworks (preferably Nest.js)
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of API development and RESTful services
• Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., JWT)
• Experience with database integration and schema design (TypeORM or similar ORM tools)
• Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code
• Basic understanding of version control systems like Git and platforms like GitHub
• Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup
• Willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Design and implement server-side logic using modern frameworks
• Build and integrate databases, ensuring proper maintenance and performance
• Write reusable, efficient, and testable code
• Perform unit testing and ensure code quality before deployment
• Collaborate with frontend developers for seamless API integration
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs
• Follow agile development methodologies and best coding practices
• Stay updated with the latest backend technologies and trends
