Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic Internal Audit professional to drive operational and process audits across our business. This is an individual contributor role involving extensive fieldwork across logistics and infrastructure sites, including ports. The role focuses on evaluating operational performance, identifying risks, and strengthening governance and process adherence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Audit & Process Review
• Conduct comprehensive audits of operational processes across business functions
• Evaluate adherence to SOPs, performance metrics, and operational efficiency
• Identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements
2. Audit Planning & Execution
• Collaborate with the Internal Audit Lead to develop audit plans and schedules
• Define audit scope, prepare data requests, and establish audit methodologies
• Execute audits independently with a structured and analytical approach
3. Risk Assessment & Controls
• Continuously assess operational risks and identify inherent risk areas
• Evaluate effectiveness of internal controls and governance mechanisms
• Provide assurance on process compliance and control robustness
4. Reporting & Follow-up
• Prepare clear and insightful audit reports including findings, root cause analysis (RCA), and recommendations
• Present audit outcomes to leadership teams
• Track and ensure timely closure of audit observations and action items
5. Stakeholder Management
• Engage with leadership teams to understand business priorities and operational challenges
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve internal controls and risk management practices
• Maintain strong working relationships across departments
6. Field Audits & Site Visits
• Conduct on-site audits at ports, logistics hubs, and operational locations
• Verify compliance with operational processes, systems, and standards
• Ensure real-time validation of data, processes, and practices
Travel Requirement
• This role requires significant travel (approximately 10–15 days per month) to operational locations outside Kolkata, including ports and logistics sites.
