Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced MS SQL Server Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability of databases. Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) will be considered an additional advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• SQL Server Administration
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (Stand‑alone / Cluster).
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform query and index optimization.
• Manage backup and recovery strategies, including regular restore testing.
• Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions( Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, Replication).
• Perform patching, service pack installations, and version upgrades.
• Ensure database security using role-based access control, encryption, and auditing.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting
• Proactively monitor database health, disk space, CPU, memory, and I/O.
• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues in production and non-production environments.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to resolve incidents and performance issues.
• Automation & Documentation
• Develop and maintain scripts for automation using T-SQL and PowerShell.
• Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.
• Compliance & Best Practices
• Implement and enforce SQL Server best practices and company standards.
• Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and audit requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience as an MS SQL Server DBA (SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 preferred).
• Excellent knowledge of T-SQL, indexing, execution plans, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with backup/restore, HA/DR, and database security.
• Experience working in 24×7 production environments.
• Good understanding of Windows Server

Additional Advantage (Good to Have)

• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS for SQL Server, including: Instance provisioning and configuration Automated backups and snapshots Monitoring using CloudWatch
• Familiarity with other AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM).
• Exposure to DevOps or CI/CD pipelines involving database deployments.
