Zuora Engineer Full Time

What you’ll do

We are seeking a Zuora Developer to join our team. The Zuora Developer will be responsible designing, implementing, and maintaining Zuora subscription billing and payment solutions for our customers. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Zuora and its API, as well as experience with integrating Zuora with other systems.

This position is an individual contributor reporting to the Director of Engineering, Applications.

Responsibility

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives related to Zuora Subscription Billing and Zuora Payment
• Develop and configure Zuora’s Product Catalog, including rate plans and pricing models, to meet business needs and support billing processes
• Design and develop custom workflows in Zuora to automate business processes, streamline operations, and improve efficiency
• Ensure the security and integrity of Zuora’s environment by implementing best practices and security measures
• Create and maintain customizations within Zuora using the Zuora API and the Zuora Object Query Language (ZOQL), Use Workflow APIs, Use Liquid expressions in Workflow, Using Data/Object Query or Fetch Query Workflow
• Design and implement payment solutions using payment methods like Credit Card, Alternate Payment Methods (APMs), ACH, Direct Debit etc
• Understand Payment Gateways, Country Specific requirements, Refund, Chargeback, Cancellation, Network Tokenization etc
• Work with product managers to gather business requirements specially Product Led Growth, E-Commerce Purchase, Usage Billing, Billing and Payment etc
• Configure and manage notifications within Zuora to keep stakeholders(internal and external) informed of key events and updates
• Create detailed and clear requirement documentation, process flows, wireframes, and other artifacts as needed to communicate requirements effectively
• Customize and design invoice templates in Zuora to align with branding guidelines and meet customer requirements
• Provide expertise and guidance on billing processes and best practices, leveraging domain knowledge to drive optimal solutions
• Collaborate with the project team and provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and recommendations

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering
• 6+ years of experience working with Zuora and focused experience in Zuora Subscription Billing and Payment Solutions
• Experience designing and implementing Zuora Workflow using the best practices like processing complex data using Lamda function, Object Query, Retrieve Query functions, Liquid-based operations
• Experience implementing Zuora Order Harmonization specially working in transition from Zuora Subscription Billing to Zuora Order Harmonization model and changing the APIs underneath
• Experience integrating Zuora with other systems such as Salesforce and Avalara including Zuora 360 Sync
• Experience working with Advanced Consumption Billing using features like Prepaid with Drawdown, Minimum Commitment etc
• Experience with customizing Zuora using the Zuora API and ZOQL
• Experience with Zuora development, including Product Catalog, workflows, Security, Notifications, and Invoice Templates
• Understanding of the Zuora platform, Zuora Admin, Zuora objects, Workflow and APIs
• Understand Payments Methods like Credit Card, Alternate Payment Methods, ACH, Direct Debit etc. Understand Payment Gateways, Country Specific requirements, Refund, Chargeback, Cancellation, Tokenized Transactions etc
• Functional & technical familiarity of the end-to-end quote-to-cash process, with experience delivering major business transformation initiatives. (SaaS Platform)
• Understanding of Agile methodologies) and best practices

Preferred

• Zuora Admin and Architect certifications
• Communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong commitment to meeting project deadlines and delivering high-quality results
