Industry: Insurance Broking
Location: Mumbai
We are looking for a highly competent Accounts & Compliance Professional (preferably a practicing Chartered Accountant) to independently manage the end-to-end financial, regulatory, and compliance framework of our Insurance Broking business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting & Financial Management
• Complete responsibility for books of accounts (Tally/ERP)
• Finalisation of accounts (Monthly / Quarterly / Annual)
• Preparation of Financial Statements – Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow
• Ledger scrutiny, reconciliations, and closing processes
• Revenue recognition as per broking norms
• Expense tracking and cost control
2. Statutory Compliance
• GST compliance – Returns, reconciliation, audit support
• TDS / Income Tax – Returns, payments, 26Q/24Q filings
• ROC compliance – Annual filings, board resolutions, statutory registers
• Professional Tax, Labour Laws (if applicable)
• Ensuring adherence to all applicable tax and corporate laws
3. Insurance Regulatory Compliance (Critical)
• Compliance with IRDAI regulations applicable to Insurance Brokers
• Maintenance of regulatory records and reports
• Preparation of periodic returns/filings required by IRDAI
• Handling inspections, notices, and regulatory queries
• Ensuring brokerage accounting and client fund handling compliance
4. Audit & Assurance
• Handling Statutory Audit, Internal Audit, and Tax Audit
• Coordination with external auditors and consultants
• Preparation of schedules, audit data, and explanations
• Closure of audit observations and reporting
5. Banking & Fund Management
• Bank reconciliations and fund tracking
• Monitoring client receipts, insurer payments, and brokerage flows
• Cash flow planning and working capital management
6. MIS & Reporting
• Monthly MIS reports for management
• Business performance analysis
• Budgeting and variance analysis
• Financial insights to support decision-making
7. Process & Control
• Setting up internal financial controls
• Ensuring proper documentation and record keeping
• Identifying risks and implementing control mechanisms
Candidate Profile:
• Chartered Accountant (Practicing preferred) / Semi-qualified with strong experience
• Minimum 3–7 years of relevant experience (Insurance / Financial Services preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, ROC, and IRDAI compliance
• Hands-on experience in finalisation and audits
• Ability to work independently and take ownership
