Accounting Manager – Client Delivery Full Time NEW

Role Overview 

The Accounting Manager owns end-to-end delivery quality across a portfolio of US clients. You will manage a team of staff accountants, ensure month-end close cycles are executed on time and with accuracy, serve as the primary escalation point for client queries, and drive continuous improvement in how we deliver. This is a player-manager role — you will review work, coach the team, and get hands-on when needed. 

Key Responsibilities 

Client Delivery & Monthly Close 

• Own the monthly close calendar across a portfolio of 6–10 US clients — plan, track, and deliver within agreed timelines 
• Review and sign off on: bank reconciliations, credit card postings, payroll journals, intercompany transactions, fixed asset registers, accrued expenses, and revenue recognition entries 
• Oversee accounts payable processes including vendor invoice processing, AMEX/Ramp/Expensify reconciliations, and AP aging management 
• Manage accounts receivable cycles including invoicing, AR aging, CECL computations, and revenue reconciliations 
• Ensure close files are accurate, well-documented, and delivered to clients per SLA 
• Handle ad hoc client requests including tax return PBC packages, audit support, and one-off analysis 

Team Management & Quality 

• Manage and mentor a team of 3–6 staff accountants (Bookkeepers, Senior Accountants) 
• Assign tasks via the client tracker; monitor WIP, resolve blockers, and escalate client-side dependencies proactively 
• Conduct first-level review of all deliverables before client submission; maintain a zero-surprise delivery standard 
• Identify team skill gaps and coordinate training; shadow and upskill staff on complex client processes 
• Maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each client 

Client Communication & Relationship Management 

• Act as day-to-day point of contact for client queries, data requests, and issue resolution 
• Draft and send follow-up communications for pending client information (bank statements, AP details, inventory reports, payroll confirmations) 
• Prepare and present bi-monthly progress reports (task completion, hours, open items) for client review 
• Proactively flag risks — client blockers, scope creep, timeline slippage — and propose solutions 

Process & Technology 

• Work within tools including QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Xero, Bill.com, HubSpot (for close-lost reconciliation), and client-specific ERPs 
• Participate in Qualicentric’s AI-augmentation initiatives — evaluate, test, and embed AI tools (e.g., automated reconciliation, AI-assisted coding) into delivery workflows 
• Contribute to the development of a scalable, outcome-based delivery model as the firm evolves away from pure hourly billing 

Qualifications & Experience 

Required 

• 5–8 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a client-facing outsourcing, BPO, or CA/CPA firm environment 
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP — revenue recognition, accruals, fixed assets, payroll accounting, intercompany eliminations 
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero; comfortable navigating multiple client environments simultaneously 
• Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close for 5+ clients concurrently, with clear deadline discipline 
• Prior team management or mentoring experience (even informal) 
• Excellent written English — able to draft professional client emails and escalation notices independently 

Preferred 

• CA (Inter/Final), CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent qualification (or in-progress) 
• Experience with US healthcare clients, SaaS revenue models, or inventory-heavy businesses 
• Familiarity with ERC (Employee Retention Credit) processing, MOD processes, or specialty finance accounting 
• Exposure to AI/automation tools in accounting workflows (e.g., Vic.ai, Botkeeper, Dext, ChatGPT for reconciliation) 
• Prior experience in a UAE/offshore holding + US client billing structure
