Pricing Strategy & Rate Management

• Develop and maintain competitive air freight pricing structures for import, export, and cross-trade lanes.
• Manage buy rates with airline partners, GSSAs, and co-loaders to optimize cost and capacity access.
• Own the end-to-end pricing process for spot quotes, long-term contracts, and tender/RFQ submissions.
• Conduct regular tariff reviews and ensure alignment with market benchmarks and internal margin thresholds.

Bid Management & RFQ Response

• Lead the preparation of competitive RFQ and tender responses in collaboration with the sales and product teams.
• Analyze customer requirements, trade lanes, volumes, and commodity profiles to structure winning bids.
• Maintain a pricing database and rate repository to enable fast, accurate, and consistent quoting.
• Track bid outcomes and win/loss ratios to refine future pricing strategies.

Airline & Vendor Relationship Management

• Negotiate allotment agreements, volume commitments, and block space agreements (BSAs) with airline partners.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with airline revenue management and sales teams.
• Monitor carrier performance against contracted rates and capacities; escalate deviations as needed.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

• Track airfreight market trends, fuel surcharge movements, capacity developments, and competitor pricing.
• Provide regular pricing intelligence reports to commercial leadership and the sales team.
• Analyze yield, margin, and volume data to identify pricing optimization opportunities.
• Support product teams with rate inputs for new corridor launches and vertical expansion initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
• MBA or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline is an advantage.

Experience

• 4–8 years of experience in air freight pricing, yield management, or commercial roles within a freight forwarder or airline.
• Demonstrated experience managing airline rate negotiations and bid/tender processes.
