Role Overview:

• Doing independent research, analyze, and present data as assigned
• Expected to work in close collaboration with the EXL team and clients on general insurance actuarial projects for US markets
• Manage rate reviews, filings with DOIs and DOI complaints support moderate to complex product initiatives
• Prepare detailed documentation for rate review, and state filing reports and preparing presentations
• Assist in analyzing, identifying and tracking new market trends, including underwriting and rate actions and proposing what actions to take
• Develop and use collaborative relationship to facilitate the accomplishment of working goals
• Facilitate, while working with other departments, in creation of product strategy, countrywide underwriting revisions and countrywide requirement updates
• Assist in audit functions as needed
• Work with Predictive Modeling on finding support and determining new model selections

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare forms and rules filings in collaboration with the onshore stakeholders
• Perform state-specific research to support new or revised filings. Interpret ISO/NCCI circulars, bulletins, or manual updates
• Analyze recent and emerging regulatory changes to proactively recommend necessary form and rule updates to maintain compliance and competitive positioning
• Create redlined or annotated versions to highlight changes from previously approved versions
• Design & draft policy forms using tools like Documaker, ensuring adherence to company formatting standards (e.g., font size, margins, spacing, pagination) and content rules (e.g., mandatory clause, prohibited terms, disclaimers)
• Draft cover letters, filing memoranda articulating filing purpose, changes, and effective dates along with other supporting documents
• Complete required forms, checklists, and certifications
• Conduct a peer review for accuracy, completeness, clarity etc. ensuring proper mention of filing type, form numbers, dates, versions
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Underwriting, and Product Management teams for cross-functional alignment
• Ensure filings comply with state-specific regulatory requirements and DOI
• Submit filings through SERFF or state-specific portal as required
• Support to respond to objections, inquiries, or requests for clarification from state regulators
• Ensure proper documentation and maintain organized filing folders, version logs and correspondence
• Utilize JIRA or similar project management tools to track progress, manage tasks, coordinate with team members, and ensure deadlines are met efficiently
• Support the development of tool/framework to review and compare form with prior versions/templates
• Support the development of validation tools/framework to quality check format and contents

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, or similar technical degree. Master’s in business or financial management is also suitable
• 2-4 years’ experience, with good understanding of P&C actuarial concepts – pricing
• Exposure to US general insurance market
• Proficiency in Excel, VBA Macros, Documaker, Jira
• Strong ability to learn technical and business knowledge
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time and work management skills
• Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges
• Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe
