Database Administrator, IT Full Time

How You’ll Help Us Connect the World:
The IT Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and enhancing all aspects of our HANA, SQL Server, and Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive design, deployment, configuration, administration and monitoring experience. In addition, the DBA will take part in responding to database related alerts, triaging incidents, and helping to resolve any database issues. The ideal candidate will be based in Goa or Hyderabad in India.

You Will Make an Impact by:

• Providing the expertise to streamline and optimize critical databases in a 24x7x365 environment located in Azure and a physical datacenter.
• Working directly with development and infrastructure teams to enhance the performance and observability of various database services.
• Developing and updating database documentation, including data standards and procedures.
• Proactively working to ensure that data and access standards are being followed.
• Escalating and owning issues to resolution.
• Assisting in troubleshooting issues across the entire stack; hardware, software, application and network within cloud-based environments and a physical datacenter.
• Developing, managing, testing and documenting backup and recovery plans.
• Maintaining monitoring and alerting for databases and participating as a member of an on-call schedule.
• Exhibiting proven track record of designing, building, optimizing, and maintaining databases on a large scale.
• Demonstrating a deep understanding of relational database design.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing complex issues in a production environment.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or another technical scientific discipline.
• 5+ years of database design and administration experience in an enterprise environment.
