Azure DB Lead

• Primary Skill:
• MySQL, Oracle DBA, SQL DBA
• Secondary Skill:
• Azure, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Services), Architecture Principle Design, Azure – Migration, Azure Administration (IaaS), Cassandra, Cloud Migration, Kafka, Migration Design, Migration Planning, MongoDB
• Specialization:
• Database & Middleware Support: Senior Architect, Applications & Platforms
• Key Responsibilities:
• Analyse on premises/ Azure transactional database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, COSMOS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra evaluate and plan migrations to Azure
• Develop/Enhance database PLSQL scripts/TSQL to migrate from source database to target database
• Identity workarounds for specific issues and corner scenarios observed during migration
• Develop test plan and testcases to demonstrate database readiness post migration
• Document detailed design and migration steps for continued migration from Dev to Prod.
• Other Requirements:
• Masters/ Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
• 15 years of experience in database design/ development/migration on Azure
• Hands-on experience on Oracle, SQL Server, COSMOS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra
• Experience migrating Large databases 1TB in size across multiple database engines (e. g. PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, etc. )
• Experience with heterogenous database migrations
• Experience in performance optimization techniques
• High end Troubleshooting and Communication skills
• Scripting language (bash/Perl/python)
• Experience in Database Administration, HA DR and Monitoring setup – backup/restore, replication, etc
