Job Purpose: Team Member – CT Operations is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe handling of container terminal operations, including the seamless execution of loading, unloading, and container movements. This role focuses on optimizing resource utilization, minimizing delays, and maintaining adherence to operational plans and safety standards, thereby contributing to the overall productivity and smooth functioning of the terminal.
Responsibilities
Shift Management:
Ensure smooth shift handover with detailed communication from the previous shift without delays.
Equipment And Resource Management
Notify the shift superintendent of potential equipment shortages or delays that could impact productivity.
RTG (Rubber-Tyred Gantry) Utilization
Allocate RTGs to specific container yard (CY) zones for optimal equipment utilization and efficient container movements.
Supervision Of Loading/Unloading Operations
Monitor truck and container loading/unloading operations to ensure timely execution and accuracy in positioning.
Coordination Of Container Movements
Coordinate container movements from the CY to rail and vice versa, ensuring accurate recording of all wagon numbers.
Adherence To Load/Discharge Plans
Ensure containers are loaded and unloaded according to load/discharge plans, following the correct yard positions.
Safety Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to safety norms and operational guidelines to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
Issue Management
Address operational challenges swiftly to minimize disruptions and keep operations running smoothly.
