Job Summary
The Director of Operational Excellence is responsible for formulating and driving the company’s operational optimization strategy. By introducing methodologies such as Lean Management and Six Sigma, this role aims to continuously enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality, while fostering cross-departmental collaboration to build a highly efficient operational system.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & System Building
Develop company-wide Operational Excellence strategies.
Establish standardized processes and a Continuous Improvement (CI) framework.
Drive the implementation of a Lean culture throughout the organization.
2. Process Optimization & Improvement
Identify bottlenecks and waste within business processes.
Lead Business Process Reengineering (BPR initiatives).
Drive end-to-end (E2E) process optimization.
3. Project Management & Execution
Lead key improvement projects (e.g., cost reduction, efficiency enhancement).
Manage projects using the DMAIC methodology.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality objectives.
4. Data-Driven Decision Making
Establish a KPI framework (covering metrics such as efficiency, quality, lead time, etc.).
Utilize data analytics tools to monitor operational performance.
Drive data-driven continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Team & Culture Building
Build and manage the Operational Excellence team (including Black Belts and Green Belts).
Train employees in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with departments such as Production, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT.
Drive company-wide operational optimization projects.
Support senior leadership in decision-making and strategy execution.
III. Qualifications
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher (in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field).
8+ years of relevant experience (in Operations, Manufacturing, Consulting, etc.).
5+ years of team management experience.
Professional Skills
Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Familiarity with process optimization, supply chain management, or production management.
Strong data analysis skills (using Excel, SQL, BI tools, etc.).
Certifications (Preferred)
Six Sigma Black Belt / Master Black Belt.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
Soft Skills
Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills.
Strategic thinking combined with strong execution capabilities.
Change Management expertise.
