Editing Intern – Social Media Full Time NEW

We at SheThePeople and Gytree are looking for a highly creative, internet-savvy Video Editing Intern who lives and breathes social media content. If you are the person who spots trends before everyone else, understands what makes people stop scrolling, and can turn around edits quickly, we’d love to meet you.

This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience creating content for fast-growing digital media and consumer brands.

What will you do?

• Edit short-form videos for Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and other social platforms.
• Create multiple video edits daily with quick turnaround times.
• Identify emerging social media trends, formats, sounds, hooks, and editing styles.
• Repurpose long-form content into engaging short-form clips.
• Add captions, transitions, graphics, music, and motion elements that improve engagement.
• Design supporting creatives, thumbnails, and social assets using Canva.
• Work closely with content, marketing, and social media teams to execute content calendars.
• Maintain brand consistency while experimenting with new formats.
• Support live event content, behind-the-scenes content, and creator-led content.
• Stay updated on platform best practices and audience behaviour.

Skills and Tools

• Strong understanding of Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
• Experience with Insta Edits, CapCut, or similar mobile editing tools.
• Working knowledge of Canva.
• Ability to edit quickly without compromising quality.
• Good understanding of social media trends and viral content formats.
• Strong visual storytelling skills.
• Ability to manage multiple edits and deadlines simultaneously.

Good To Have

• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar software.
• Basic graphic design skills.
• Experience running or growing a personal social media page.
