Engineering Manager – Solar

Role Description

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the engineering design, technical planning, and execution support for solar energy projects across utility-scale, commercial, and industrial segments. The role involves managing engineering activities from concept to commissioning, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and adherence to project timelines.

The Engineering Manager will lead multidisciplinary engineering coordination, provide technical leadership to project teams, support pre-bid and execution activities, and collaborate closely with clients, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to deliver optimized and sustainable energy solutions.

Educational Qualifications

•  B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related Electrical Stream
• M.E / M.Tech / M.Sc in Electrical / Renewable Energy preferred

Experience Requirements

•  Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in Solar PV Engineering and Project Execution
• Experience in utility-scale, C&I solar projects, substations, and renewable energy systems preferred

Key Responsibilities

•  Prepare, review, and optimize Solar PV electrical system and substation designs
• Conduct site surveys, feasibility assessments, and engineering studies
• Perform AC/DC system calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop analysis, and protection coordination
• Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), layout drawings, earthing layouts, cable routing drawings, and detailed engineering documentation
• Perform energy yield analysis and generation simulations using PVSyst or equivalent software
• Prepare BOQs, technical datasheets, tender engineering documents, and technical specifications
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, consultants, and clients
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, grid codes, statutory requirements, and project specifications
• Support procurement activities through technical evaluations and vendor coordination
• Provide engineering support during project execution, installation, testing, and commissioning activities
• Assist in pre-bid engineering, technical proposal preparation, and project estimation activities
• Review as-built documentation and ensure engineering closure of projects
• Monitor engineering deliverables, project schedules, and quality standards for timely project completion
• Drive design optimization initiatives for cost efficiency, constructability, and operational performance

Technical Skills

•  Strong understanding of Solar PV systems, substations, and electrical distribution systems
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, PVSyst
• Knowledge of IEC, IS, IEEE, and relevant electrical standards
• Understanding of SCADA systems, grid integration, and protection systems preferred
• Familiarity with utility-scale and C&I renewable energy project execution
