Job Description: General Manager, Production (Solar Panel Manufacturing)

Location: Gurugram, Haryana

Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and results-oriented General Manager, Production to lead the end-to-end manufacturing operations of Brick2Wall’s Solar Panel Manufacturing Facility. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing world-class production systems, driving operational excellence, ensuring superior product quality, optimizing costs, and building a high-performance manufacturing culture.

The incumbent will play a critical role in scaling production capacity, enhancing operational efficiencies, and ensuring the plant consistently meets business, quality, safety, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Leadership & Plant Operations

·      Lead overall production operations of the solar panel manufacturing plant.

·      Establish and drive manufacturing strategies aligned with business growth plans.

·      Ensure achievement of production targets related to output, quality, yield, and delivery schedules.

·      Develop and implement systems to maximize plant productivity, utilization, and operational efficiency.

·      Drive manufacturing excellence through structured processes and best-in-class operational practices.

Production Planning & Execution

·      Oversee production planning and execution to ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.

·      Monitor production schedules and proactively address bottlenecks impacting output.

·      Ensure adherence to production timelines while maintaining quality standards.

·      Drive continuous improvements in cycle time, throughput, and operational effectiveness.

Quality & Process Excellence

·      Collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering teams to ensure consistent product quality.

·      Drive initiatives to improve First Pass Yield (FPY), reduce rejection rates, and minimize process losses.

·      Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

·      Establish robust process controls and manufacturing standards.

Plant Setup & Expansion

·      Support commissioning, ramp-up, stabilization, and expansion of manufacturing operations.

·      Participate in plant layout planning, equipment selection, line balancing, and capacity enhancement projects.

·      Drive productivity improvement and automation initiatives.

Cost Optimization

·      Manage manufacturing budgets and operational costs.

·      Drive initiatives to reduce conversion costs, wastage, scrap, energy consumption, and downtime.

·      Establish cost-control mechanisms while maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.

Maintenance & Asset Management

·      Work closely with Maintenance teams to ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability.

·      Develop preventive and predictive maintenance systems.

·      Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and implement improvement plans.

Safety, Compliance & Sustainability

·      Ensure strict compliance with EHS standards and statutory requirements.

·      Cultivate a culture of safety, discipline, and accountability across the manufacturing facility.

·      Lead initiatives related to sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental compliance.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

·      Build and develop a high-performing manufacturing team.

·      Mentor production managers, engineers, supervisors, and shop-floor employees.

·      Drive employee engagement, productivity, and capability development initiatives.

·      Establish a performance-driven culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Management

·      Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, and Commercial teams.

·      Provide regular operational reviews and performance updates to senior leadership.

·      Support business expansion and strategic manufacturing initiatives.

·      Employee Retention and Capability Development

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience

·      10-15 years of manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in a senior production leadership role.

·      Strong experience in Solar Panel Manufacturing is mandatory.

·      Proven experience in plant setup, commissioning, ramp-up, and large-scale manufacturing operations.

·      Experience managing large teams and cross-functional manufacturing environments.
