About Neev Energy
Neev Energy designs, builds, and operates connected street lighting systems across Indian cities, managing hundreds of thousands of light points through long-term government contracts. We design and manufacture key elements of our own technology stack — IoT-enabled control devices, smart luminaire systems, and the software layer that connects them. Procurement at Neev therefore spans electronics components and precision lighting technology as much as it does conventional infrastructure materials.
The opportunity
This is a group procurement role with ownership across all categories — IoT electronics, smart lighting components, infrastructure materials, and O&M consumables. The primary expertise we are looking for is in electronics components and LED lighting technology. Infrastructure materials such as poles and cabling are a secondary category that the right candidate will absorb quickly. This is a hands-on role: you will own the full procurement cycle and build the processes and vendor base from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
1. Electronics and IoT component sourcing
– Own sourcing of all electronics components for HyperDash IoT devices: microcontrollers, communication modules, power management ICs, sensors, PCB assemblies, connectors, and enclosures.
– Build a global supply chain with primary and alternate sources for critical components; manage lead times and eliminate single-vendor dependencies across the bill of materials.
– Track component lifecycles: monitor end-of-life notifications, qualify replacements ahead of supply risk, and negotiate volume-linked agreements with distributors and manufacturers.
– Manage international sourcing — primarily across Asia — with working knowledge of import regulations, customs duties, and logistics for electronics shipments into India.
2. Smart luminaire and lighting product procurement
– Source LED luminaires, modules, drivers, optical components, and smart control gear — with a working understanding of the specifications that determine performance, longevity, and project compliance.
– Develop and maintain a panel of qualified luminaire manufacturers and component suppliers, domestic and international, with clear visibility of their capabilities and quality systems.
– Ensure all procured lighting products meet certification and testing requirements — BIS, IP ratings, LM-80, and other applicable standards — and maintain documentation for compliance audits.
3. Infrastructure materials and O&M consumables
– Manage procurement of infrastructure materials — poles, arms, cables, control panels, and civil inputs — across active project sites, establishing rate contracts and empanelled vendors for standard items.
– Manage O&M spares and consumables across the operating portfolio: ensure critical spares are available at each site to support SLA commitments without excess inventory accumulation.
– Coordinate with the store function on inventory levels, minimum stock norms, and replenishment across project locations.
4. Vendor management, process, and cost discipline
– Build and maintain a structured vendor master across all categories: qualification criteria, performance scorecards, and periodic reviews — taking corrective action, including vendor replacement, where performance falls short.
– Build the procurement governance framework: approval workflows, three-quote discipline, PO standards, and vendor payment coordination with finance.
– Drive total-cost-of-ownership thinking across all categories — unit price, lead time, quality risk, logistics, and payment terms — and deliver year-on-year cost reduction through consolidation, alternate sourcing, and negotiation.
– Lead the procurement workstream for ERP implementation: define requirements and ensure the system reflects procurement process needs from day one.
What we’re looking for
Experience
– 12 to 16 years in procurement or supply chain, with the majority of experience in electronics components, smart devices, LED lighting, or technology hardware.
– Demonstrated experience sourcing electronics components globally: familiarity with the distributor ecosystem, component availability risk management, and international supply chains — particularly across Asia.
– Strong grounding in LED lighting product procurement — understanding luminaire specifications, driver technology, and the certification landscape for infrastructure projects.
– Track record of building or significantly improving a procurement function — introducing structure, discipline, and cost reduction where neither previously existed.
Capabilities
– Technical fluency: you can read a bill of materials, interpret a component datasheet, and have an informed conversation with an engineer about specifications and alternatives.
– Global sourcing instinct: you know how to navigate international supply chains, manage import logistics, and build supplier relationships across borders.
– Quality ownership: you understand that in Neev’s business, a procurement decision is also a quality decision — and you work closely with the quality team, taking accountability for downstream impact.
Process builder: you are comfortable with ambiguity and capable of building repeatable structure where none exists. Experience in an organisation without a mature ERP is a strong advantage.
Hands-on, high-ownership role where procurement decisions directly shape product quality and project profitability. Compensation reflects seniority and experience. Location: Delhi NCR with travel to project sites and supplier locations.
