Job Description – IS Applications Analyst (Healthcare Applications)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IS Applications Analyst to support the day-to-day operations of non-clinical healthcare applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for application support, system maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and implementation activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

The candidate will participate in system design, build activities, solution definition, documentation, and continuous operational improvements for enterprise healthcare applications. Experience with healthcare dictation and speech recognition platforms, preferably Dragon Medical One by Nuance Communications, is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of non-clinical applications including design, build, testing, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement activities.
• Handle service requests, incidents, troubleshooting, and software updates.
• Participate in system testing and validation activities including development and maintenance of testing protocols.
• Coordinate testing efforts with business users and stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively across departments to support enterprise applications and operational workflows.
• Assist in maintaining stable and functional software applications in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Create, maintain, and update technical and system support documentation.
• Follow organizational change management and application governance procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation schedules and provide immediate off-hours support when required.
• Continuously maintain technical knowledge and cross-functional expertise across departmental systems.
• Gather, interpret, and analyze complex operational and application data to improve system stability and performance.
• Design system components, define technical solutions, write specifications, and develop system-level documentation.
• Support healthcare business, fiscal, IS, and operational workflows through effective application management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT Application Support, IS Applications, or Healthcare IT environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of operational workflows supported by enterprise applications.
• Ability to quickly learn new applications and adapt to changing assignments.
• Experience with system implementations, upgrades, and production support.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and validation processes.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary healthcare environments preferred.
• Familiarity with Nuances healthcare dictation and speech recognition systems preferred.
• Experience with Dragon Medical One or related speech recognition platforms is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting healthcare applications and clinical/business operational systems.
• Understanding of change management and incident management processes.
• Exposure to healthcare IT workflows and enterprise support models.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
