Job Overview:

The IT Network Site Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure at project sites. The role requires hands-on support in implementing LAN/WAN solutions, troubleshooting network issues, ensuring security compliance, and providing reliable connectivity for end-users. The engineer will work closely with project teams, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless delivery of network-related services and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Deployment & Configuration

• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other networking equipment like CCTV, Access Control, Environmental Sensor etc..
• Implement and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN solutions at client or project sites.
• Configure VLANs, routing protocols, and IP addressing schemes.

2. Troubleshooting & Support

• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues at the site level.

3. Security & Compliance

• Implement and monitor network security measures such as firewalls, access control lists (ACLs).

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain up-to-date documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and site-specific setups.
• Prepare site activity reports, highlighting progress, issues, and solutions.

6. Maintenance & Monitoring

• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections of network infrastructure.
• Monitor site network health using tools such as Nagios, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
• Ensure proper backup and recovery measures are in place for network configurations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proven experience as a site engineer or similar role, preferably in IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking principles, hardware components, and server technologies.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MCSA) are a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Availability for occasional travel to different site locations as and when required.
• Willingness to work outside regular business hours for maintenance and support activities.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.
