Job Summary
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Junior Designer – Knitted Ladieswear to support the design and development of women’s knitwear collections. The role involves working with stretch fabrics like jersey, rib, interlock, and coordinating closely with design, sampling, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in designing knitted ladieswear (t-shirts, tops, dresses, loungewear, co-ord sets)Develop mood boards, colour palettes, and basic design conceptsWork with knitted fabrics (jersey, rib, fleece, interlock, etc.)Support in graphic placements, prints, and surface developmentsPrepare basic tech packs including measurements and construction detailsCoordinate with sampling team for proto development and correctionsReview samples for fit, comfort, stretch behaviour, and finishingConduct market and trend research (especially fast fashion and casual wear)Maintain design files, swatches, and documentation
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Fashion Design / Textile Design0–2 years of experience (Freshers with strong portfolio can apply)
Required Skills
Basic understanding of knitted fabrics and stretch garments Knowledge of garment construction for knitsFamiliarity with Adobe Illustrator Photoshop and any 3d fashion software Basic understanding of graphics, prints, and placementsGood sense of colour, styling, and casual wear trendsAbility to sketch (hand or digital)Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
Internship or exposure to knitwear / t-shirt designKnowledge of print techniques (screen print, digital print, embroidery)Understanding of GSM, shrinkage, and wash effects in knitsInterest in athleisure / casual / lounge categoriesAwareness of sustainable materials (organic cotton, recycled blends)
