The Opportunity

UST is looking for Lab Support Technician.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Support platform bring-up activities including system setup, movement, and teardown
• Assemble and disassemble hardware platforms such as servers, desktops, and test systems
• Install and configure operating systems (Linux, Windows, VMware) under guidance
• Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues
• Assist with BIOS, firmware, and driver updates as instructed
• Support lab infrastructure activities including rack setup, cabling, and cable management
• Maintain lab discipline including cleanliness, safety, and ESD compliance
• Assist with inventory handling, asset tracking, and documentation update
• Collect logs, run basic tests, and share results with senior engineers
• Follow standard operating procedures and comply with lab safety policies

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of computer hardware and system components
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments
• Exposure to lab equipment and hardware handling practices
• Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, Static IP concepts)
• Ability to follow technical instructions and procedures accurately
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Strong teamwork and willingness to learn

Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field
• 2–4 years of experience in lab support, hardware support, or technical operations

Work Environment

• Full-time onsite role in a lab environment
• May involve lifting equipment, standing for extended periods, and working around test hardware
• Remote or hybrid work is not supported
