About the Role

Firebucks is hiring a full-stack Lead Software Developer with 6-8 years of experience to join our growing engineering delivery team. You’ll bring strong technical expertise and a passion for problem-solving to design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions in a cloud-centric environment embedded directly within a fast-moving product team in the automotive digital marketing space.

You’ll work as a true team member alongside our US-based client’s product engineering team, with expected overlap during US Central hours for stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, and day-to-day coordination. This is not a vendor-at-a-distance model; you’ll have ownership, visibility, and real collaboration from day one.

We’re looking for someone with a continuous improvement mindset, creative problem-solving skills, and a track record of delivering high-quality software that addresses real business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver high-quality software solutions as part of an embedded development team
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, daily stand-ups, and team syncs aligned to US Central time zone hours, working as an integrated extension of the client’s development team
• Drive planning and technical design for product feature work, including vetting new ideas and recommending product improvements
• Implement business functionality in close collaboration with development, product, account management, and infrastructure teams
• Own code quality and maintainability through defined standards and code reviews
• Mentor team members and champion a culture of continuous improvement

Must-Have Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• A minimum of 5+ years experience with one or more of the following languages: PHP, JavaScript, Java, C#
• 5+ years experience with one or more of the following database systems: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL
• Experience delivering software solutions in an Agile environment
• Knowledge of OOP concepts and design patterns
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable working overlapping US Central time zone hours

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years experience using one or more of the following IDEs: IntelliJ, PhpStorm, Visual Studio
• Experience working in a cloud-centric environment (such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience using modern JavaScript frameworks to build user-friendly and accessible interfaces (such as Angular, React, etc.)
• Experience and interest in digital marketing concepts such as search engine/social media marketing, search engine optimization, and data analytics
