Lead – Wholesale Audit Full Time NEW

JOB OVERVIEW: The incumbent will oversee risk-based audits across the end-to-end lending lifecycle, including origination, credit appraisal, underwriting, disbursement, monitoring, and collections. The role is responsible for assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, regulatory compliance, and risk governance frameworks, identifying control gaps, and driving corrective actions. The incumbent will partner with senior leadership of the Wholesale Lending business within Piramal Finance, to strengthen risk management practices and provide independent assurance to senior management and Head Internal Audit.

QUALIFICATION: Qualified Chartered Accountant

EXPERIENCE:

• 14+ years of total work experience in internal audit of NBFC/ HFC/ Banking, and reputed audit firms. Must have experience in auditing real estate lending, wholesale and large credit vertical
• Strong familiarity with Companies Act, RBI / NHB and other regulatory requirements.
• Significant experience in developing, testing, and assessing internal controls.
• Strong analytical skill with knowledge and understanding of the NBFC , HFC and Banking systems, internal controls, and reporting processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop risk-based annual audit plans detailing the scope, nature and timing of audit activities for wholesale credit vertical.
• Design internal audit procedures and work programs.
• Conduct internal audits to assess the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the established internal controls and procedures for support & regulatory functions.
• Identify key areas of risk and propose appropriate controls to mitigate the risks and discuss audit findings and recommendations with line managers and report significant issues to senior management.
• Prepare audit reports in line with the approved audit plan and ensure the timely implementation of management actions recommended in the audit reports.
• Preparation of Business Understanding Document and Audit Checklist ensuring adequate audit scope coverage.
• Review of work performed by the team along with Audit Findings and Discussion/ Closure of the same with auditee.
• Preparation of audit reports with adequate documentation and post-report activities and closure of the audits in system.
• Work with other vertical leads for department initiatives such as audit workflow tool, quality assurance and improvement program, audit committee deliverables.
