Manager – Electrical DRI
Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance professional for our DRI Plant operations at Kalunga, Odisha. The candidate will be responsible for electrical maintenance of the entire DRI plant, ensuring high equipment availability, smooth operations, shutdown planning, team coordination, and implementation of maintenance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
Plant Maintenance & Uptime
- Ensure smooth operation and maximum uptime of electrical equipment in the DRI plant
- Monitor and improve reliability of plant electrical systems
- Drive maintenance improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve performance
- Support production targets through effective maintenance practices
Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Ensure adherence to CLTI (Cleaning, Lubrication, Tightening & Inspection) and Preventive Maintenance schedules
- Monitor maintenance check sheets and maintenance compliance
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementation of Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Track maintenance effectiveness and equipment performance
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance MIS reports
Shutdown Maintenance
- Plan and execute shutdown maintenance activities
- Ensure timely completion of shutdown jobs within planned schedules
- Optimize shutdown duration and maintenance cost
Spares Management
- Ensure availability of electrical and instrumentation spares within min-max levels
- Maintain health and readiness of insurance spares
- Coordinate ERP-based requisition, indenting, and issue of spares
- Support refurbishment planning to reduce maintenance costs
Team Management
- Lead and coordinate the electrical maintenance team
- Conduct performance monitoring and team guidance
- Coordinate technical training and skill development activities
- Ensure proper manpower planning for uninterrupted maintenance activities
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with EHS, IMS, and safety standards
- Maintain zero lost time injury and accident-free operations
- Ensure adherence to permit systems and safe work practices
- Maintain and monitor 3S standards within the department
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance in DRI / steel processing plants
- Understanding of drives, motors, transformers, and HT/HV systems
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Team management and coordination abilities
- Experience in preventive and shutdown maintenance
- Familiarity with ERP-based maintenance systems
Eligibility Criteria
- B.E. / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in DRI / steel plant electrical maintenance
- Experience in maintenance of drives, motors, transformers, and HV lines preferred
- 11 KV Certification will be an added advantage
