Manager – Mechanical Full Time

• Planning & Execution of Rotary Maintenance
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance plans for Mill, APH, Fans, and all rotating machinery.
• Ensure timely execution of PM, CM, shutdown, and turnaround maintenance activities.
• Coordinate job planning with Production, EHS, and the Mechanical team to avoid downtime.
• Equipment Reliability & Performance Improvement
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for failures and implement corrective & preventive measures.
• Lead reliability initiatives like lubrication optimization, balancing program, alignment improvement, and vibration monitoring.
• Condition Monitoring & Diagnostics
• Manage vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis, and other predictive techniques.
• Interpret condition monitoring reports to take early corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OEM standards, ISO guidelines, and reliability best practices.
• Shutdown/Turnaround (SD/TA) Management
• Prepare complete rotary scope, manpower planning, spares and tools requirement.
• Ensure timely completion of critical shutdown jobs like major overhauls, rotor replacements, bearing changeouts, compressor inspections, etc.
• Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Safety, and Operations teams.
• Safety & Compliance
• Ensure 100% adherence to LOTO, PTW, isolation standards, and all EHS norms.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety audits, and risk assessments (HIRA, JSA) for rotary jobs.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and OEM recommendations.
• Team Leadership & Skill Development
• Lead a team of rotary engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Provide on-the-job training in alignment, balancing, bearing handling, lubrication, and diagnostic tools.
• Spares, Inventory & Vendor Management
• Identify and maintain critical spares for major rotary equipment.
• Coordinate with SCM for timely procurement of high-value or long-lead items.
• Manage vendor services for alignment, balancing, overhauls, rewinding, or specialized repair jobs.
• Documentation, Systems & Reporting
• Ensure timely updating of CMMS/SAP: work orders, history cards, PM checklists, breakdown reports.
• Maintain detailed documentation for overhauls, inspections, and RCA reports.
• Prepare reliability dashboards and weekly/monthly maintenance performance reports.
• Budgeting & Cost Control
• Wide knowledge in SAP operation.
• Prepare and monitor rotary maintenance budget (CAPEX & OPEX).
• Optimize maintenance costs through repair vs replacement analysis, spare standardization, and vendor negotiation.
• Reduce repetitive breakdowns through structured reliability improvement programs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Production, Electrical, Instrumentation, EHS, and Utilities teams.
• Participate in daily/weekly meetings to review equipment performance.
• Ensure alignment of maintenance activities with production targets and plant reliability goals.

Qualifications

BE/B.tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.

Minimum of 15 years of experience in power plant operations with a focus on thermal power plants.

Experience in the power generation industry above 500 MW thermal power plants.
