About the work

We are building a clinical documentation tool for primary care GPs serving rural India, with our pilot beginning in Maharashtra. To train our medical OCR model, we need annotators who can read Indian doctor handwriting and accurately transcribe structured information from real medical document images.

You will use a web-based annotation tool (onboarding provided) to fill structured fields — drug names, dosages, patient details, clinical observations — drawn from prescriptions, lab reports, and clinical notes. Some documents are clearly printed; others are handwritten and require careful reading.

Timeline: 2 weeks · Expected effort: 2–4 hours/day

A short onboarding demo will be provided before you start. After that the work is fully self-directed and remote.

Compensation: This batch (flat): ₹5000

Payment structure: ₹1,500 upfront + ₹3,500 on completion

Ongoing work: Negotiable per batch, improved rates

Long-term: Equity + part-time role (if product succeeds)

We are pre-revenue. The upfront payment releases after a 20-image quality check. This protects both sides.

Requirements

1. Comfortable reading Indian doctor handwriting across prescriptions, clinical notes, and lab reports
2. Connections with GPs, hospital doctors, or PHC/CHC staff is must — if you can help us build a network of doctor collaborators in rural India, and help us get anonymised handwritten data, compensation will be much higher and the role can grow significantly.
3. Familiar with medical shorthand: BD, TID, OD, SOS, and common drug name and dosage formats
4. Own laptop or desktop with reliable internet — mobile-only will not work for this tool
5. Comfortable using web-based tools: browser, structured forms, basic file navigation

Good to have

1. Background in nursing, pharmacy, MBBS, or clinical support
2. Prior experience with medical transcription or data entry in a clinical setting

What this is not

1. Not a full-time salaried role right now
2. Equity is real but speculative — we are early stage
3. We will not ask you to work unpaid on promises
