About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and talented Network Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team. This remote, full-time internship offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects contributing to our mission of revolutionizing the way the world connects online. As a Network Engineer Intern, you will engage in tasks such as network design & development, and back-end development, gaining hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting network systems in a fast-paced and innovative environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about networking technology, eager to learn, and interested in contributing to cutting-edge projects that have a real-world impact. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers, participate in technical discussions, and develop practical skills that will serve as a foundation for your career in networking and infrastructure development.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electronics & Communications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in Networking and IT concepts and networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model).
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and command-line tools.
• Basic programming/scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git and collaborative platforms like GitHub.
• Experience with OpenWRT or other embedded networking platforms.
• Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and iptables.
• Understanding of the AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) framework and networking security concepts.
• Knowledge of RADIUS server, QoS, and bandwidth management.
• Experience managing and deploying applications on AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Lambda).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen analytical mindset.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while staying collaborative and communicative with the team.
• A passion for learning and a drive to contribute to innovative projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and customization of OpenWRT-based firmware for networking devices.
• Configure and optimize mesh network topologies for real-world applications.
• Design and implement VLAN configurations for secure and efficient network segmentation.
• Support the analysis and optimization of TCP/IP and OSI layer protocols in networking environments.
• Conduct security assessments and implement security measures in network systems.
• Collaborate with the development team to integrate new features and improvements into existing systems.
• Perform network performance testing and troubleshooting using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.
• Document technical processes, configurations, and findings to ensure knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and code reviews to enhance your technical skills and contribute ideas.
• Work with open-source platforms and tools to streamline development processes and improve system performance.
