Network Support Engineer (2-3 yrs | Vijayawada) Full Time

Job Summary: 

The Network Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting day-to-day network operations within the data center environment. This role involves working with switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and enterprise network tools to ensure seamless connectivity, security, and uptime. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in network support, strong troubleshooting skills, and foundational knowledge of routing, switching, and network security. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Network Support & Troubleshooting: 

• Monitor network devices and links to ensure optimal performance and availability. 
• Troubleshoot L1/L2 network issues related to switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and VPNs. 
• Assist in diagnosing connectivity issues, packet losses, and latency problems. 
• Escalate critical issues to senior network engineers when required. 

Network Operations & Maintenance: 

• Support the configuration and maintenance of network devices in the data center. 
• Perform routine health checks on network infrastructure. 
• Assist in applying patches, updates, and firmware upgrades on network equipment. 
• Work on incident tickets, service requests, and change requests as per process. 

Security & Compliance: 

• Ensure basic network security policies are followed (ACLs, VLAN segmentation, authentication). 
• Support periodic audits by updating network logs and documentation. 
• Report suspicious traffic patterns or potential vulnerabilities to the security team. 

Implementation Support: 

• Assist senior engineers during new network deployments, migrations, and cabling activities. 
• Coordinate with vendors during equipment installation or troubleshooting. 

Documentation & Reporting: 

• Maintain accurate records of network changes, device inventory, and configurations. 
• Update troubleshooting guides and SOPs for recurring issues. 
• Prepare daily/weekly reports on network health, outages, and activity logs. 

Qualifications: 

Experience: 

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in enterprise or data center network support. 
• Experience working with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking devices. 
• Basic understanding of routing & switching protocols like VLANs, STP, OSPF, and BGP (exposure level). 
• Experience using network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios). 

Skills: 

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. 
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPN, and load balancing. 
• Ability to work in shifts and under fast-paced operational environments. 
• Good communication and documentation skills. 

Education & Certifications: 

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field is required. 
• CCNA/JNCIA or equivalent certification are preferred. 

Work Environment: 

• May require on-call support and shift-based work. 
• Ability to work in a data center environment, including physical tasks like cabling or equipment handling.
