Role Description

Champion Plastics is hiring a Plant Operations Manager for our Hosur / SIPCOT facility.

This is a full-time, on-site role for an experienced manufacturing professional who can lead daily plant operations, strengthen production planning, improve workforce deployment, and ensure timely customer deliveries. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in production, plant operations, production planning, materials coordination, inventory management, dispatch coordination, and factory-level people management. This person will be responsible for aligning production schedules, machine availability, mould readiness, material availability, manpower deployment, inventory status, and dispatch commitments.

At our current stage of growth, the Plant Operations Manager will play a critical role in creating clear accountability across production, stores, inventory, vendor coordination, logistics, workforce planning, and dispatch. The objective is to ensure that customer requirements are converted into practical production plans and completed deliveries with minimal delays, avoidable stoppages, or communication gaps. This role requires someone who is comfortable working close to the shop floor, reviewing daily production constraints, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that supervisors and shift teams follow clear operating standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead production operations across blow moulding, injection moulding, assembly, finishing, packing, and related support activities.
• Own daily and weekly production planning, including machine loading, mould readiness, manpower deployment, material availability, and dispatch commitments.
• Coordinate with stores, inventory, purchase, vendors, logistics, and dispatch teams to ensure production and delivery requirements are met.
• Monitor production output, machine utilization, material shortages, inventory gaps, manpower availability, machine downtime, dispatch delays, and delivery adherence.
• Work with shift leaders, production leads, supervisors, and operators to improve machine running time, shift performance, and production discipline.
• Identify and resolve constraints related to materials, moulds, manpower, quality, maintenance, vendor supply, and dispatch readiness.
• Strengthen shift handovers, production reporting, inventory visibility, operator accountability, and shop floor communication.
• Work closely with quality, maintenance, engineering, stores, purchase, logistics, and management teams to improve daily plant performance.
• Use production dashboards, inventory trackers, output reports, ERP/MIS reports, and review meetings to support better planning and decision-making.
• Develop supervisors, shift leads, and production teams so that daily operations are managed with clear ownership and less dependency on senior management.
• Support future growth by building practical systems for production planning, workforce deployment, reporting, escalation, and accountability.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 10 years of experience in production, plant operations, production planning, materials coordination, or factory operations.
• Prior experience in plastics, blow moulding, injection moulding, assembly, packaging, automotive components, or high-volume component manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to manage daily production challenges related to material availability, inventory gaps, manpower shortages, machine downtime, mould readiness, quality issues, and dispatch priorities.
• Strong understanding of production planning, machine loading, manpower planning, material readiness, inventory control, and customer delivery requirements.
• Practical knowledge of moulding, assembly, finishing, packing, secondary operations, stores, inventory, logistics, and dispatch workflows.
• Experience coordinating with stores, purchase, vendors, outsourced component suppliers, logistics partners, quality, maintenance, and production teams.
• Strong people management skills with operators, labourers, shift leads, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable using ERP/MIS reports, production trackers, inventory trackers, dashboards, and planning tools.
• Ability to make decisions under operational constraints while maintaining production discipline, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
• Hindi communication capability is strongly preferred for direct interaction with North Indian operators. Tamil or Kannada is an added advantage for local workforce interaction.
• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Plastics, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Prior experience in plastics, packaging, automotive, consumer goods, or high-volume component manufacturing is preferred.
