As a Principal Technical Program Manager with FBA, you will lead broad cross-organization efforts from the early stages through release. You will work closely with product managers, engineering managers, scientists and engineers to build the next generation of seller platforms. You will be responsible for influencing organization’s product and technical roadmap and technical architecture. You will be driving organization-wide engineering and operational excellence initiatives. You will represent difficult trade-off decisions and solutions clearly to leaders up to 3 levels above to help them understand decisions and options. You will leverage your technical knowledge to drive technical trade-off choices. You will be able to identify when a technical solution requires additional technical guidance. You will manage cross-functional and cross-organization communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed, and needs are aligned. You will guide the technical direction and decisions to deliver a solution that meets Amazon high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence.
“Third-party sellers are kicking our first party butt. Badly. And it’s a high bar too because our first-party business has grown dramatically over that period, from $1.6 billion in 1999 to $117 billion this past year. Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
