Role Description The Regional Biomedical Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Madhya Pradesh, India, responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of medical equipment across assigned ASG Eye Hospital locations. This role involves installing, configuring, and validating ophthalmic and diagnostic devices in coordination with clinical and operations teams. The Regional Biomedical Engineer will perform periodic preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate repairs with vendors, and maintain accurate documentation of service records and compliance reports. The role also includes training clinical staff on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting, monitoring inventory of spare parts and consumables, and supporting audits and quality initiatives related to biomedical equipment. The engineer will regularly travel within the region to support multiple hospital units and ensure standardization of biomedical practices.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong foundational knowledge in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering, preferably with experience in ophthalmic or hospital-based medical technologies.
• Candidates should possess hands-on skills in Medical Equipment installation, calibration, and repair, including diagnostic and surgical devices used in eye care settings.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance, including routine inspections, performance checks, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to collaborate with clinical, operations, and vendor teams.
• Willingness to travel across multiple hospital locations within Madhya Pradesh and manage priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Familiarity with hospital quality systems, documentation practices, and medical equipment regulatory requirements will be an advantage.
