Position Overview

The company is looking for a Backend Engineer with deep Python or Go expertise to build and own mission-critical microservices that power its consumer AI platform. You will design scalable, high-availability systems handling massive traffic at India scale. This role spans L4 (senior IC owning complex service systems) and involves end-to-end ownership from architecture through to production operations.

Role & Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy production-grade microservices using Python or Go with high availability and data consistency guarantees.

• Develop reliable REST and async APIs supporting complex, high-traffic consumer AI workflows
• Optimize system performance through latency reduction, throughput improvements, and efficient asynchronous processing pipelines.
• Identify and resolve scaling bottlenecks in production distributed environments serving 100M+ users.
• Own end-to-end production services—from architecture and implementation to monitoring, alerting, and incident resolutions.

Must Have Criterion :

• 4–7 years of backend engineering experience with Python OR Go as the primary language.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building production microservices with Python or Go.
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems handling high-traffic workloads (scale must be specified in resume)
• Demonstrated track record of optimizing API latency and throughput in production environments.
• Experience with asynchronous processing systems (e.g., Kafka or similar message queues).
• Hands-on ownership of production services including on-call, incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Independently owns complex service systems, driving technical design and delivery end-to–end.

Nice to Have:

• HaveExperience building backend systems for consumer-facing apps at 10M+ user scale.
• Exposure to AI/ML platform backends—model serving, inference APIs, or orchestration layers.
• Prior experience at a high-growth startup or scaleup with fast iteration cycles
• Familiarity with observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing.)
