About the Role:

We are seeking a news-savvy, sharp-minded Social Media Expert to lead our city pages that focus on credible, real-time updates across city news, current affairs, and social issues. We want someone who knows how to report facts fast, yet in a format that’s Instagram-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curate and publish accurate, timely, and engaging news content.
• Cover breaking stories, policy updates, socio-political topics, and public interest issues.
• Simplify complex news into bite-sized Instagram posts (reels, carousels, explainers).
• Collaborate with the design and editorial teams to maintain a high-quality content output.
• Fact-check thoroughly before publishing and ensure compliance with media ethics.
• Track content performance and adapt strategy to boost organic reach.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience managing news or media pages on digital platforms.
• A formal journalism or mass communication background (degree/diploma).
• Strong command over news writing, headlines, and storytelling for digital formats.
• Deep understanding of Indian current affairs, politics, society, and youth culture.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and speed.

Bonus if You Have:

• Previous work in a digital newsroom, news agency, or media outlet.
• Familiarity with content policies, copyrights, and press standards.
• Experience in creating reel scripts and short video explainers on news topics.
